Do we want a culture of inquiry, interdependence and collaboration? If so what are some of the new learning models. Stephanie Pace Marshall says "tomorrow's learning environment is focused on teacher facilitated and student generated knowledge." She points out that meaning and connections are constructed by the learner; that affirms the power of relationships and community in learning; the learner's passion and love are essential for deep learning. The purpose of education is to acquire wisdom through the reflective and often slow exploration of essential questions; and engaged learning requires an intergenerational community learning together.
